Stapleton will relocate to the US to become executive chairman of group’s new joint venture with Sprint
Dixons eCommerce director Jeremy Fennell will replace Graham Stapleton as Carphone Warehouse’s new UK and Ireland boss, taking on the role of managing director.
Stapleton (pictured), who has been Carphone’s CEO for the past two years, will relocate to the US after being named as executive chairman of the group’s new US venture with Sprint, which was announced last week.
He will work alongside Fennell for the next six months as part of a handover period.
Fennell will continue to head up the Travel and Harrods business for Dixons Carphone, with his eCommerce responsibilities taken on by group chief commercial officer Steve Ager and new eCommerce director Stuart Ramage.
Over a 14 year period at the company, Fennell has held several global senior purchasing roles, and prior to becoming eCommerce director in 2011, was international buying director for DSG International for more than four years.
